Trans-Tasman
Sydney to Auckland by private jet
New Zealand is a Trans-Tasman charter from Sydney. Auckland and Queenstown are the two cities we are asked for most. The super-midsize category is where that conversation starts.

Auckland and Queenstown
Auckland Airport (AKL / NZAA) is the main gateway. Queenstown Airport (ZQN / NZQN) is the airport for the south. Queenstown sits among mountains, and the weather decides more days there than it does in Auckland. The operator confirms that the aircraft and the crew are approved for the airport.
Wellington and Christchurch can be requested. Name the city. A quote for Auckland is not a quote for Queenstown.
Category and time
Bombardier Challenger 350 / Praetor 600, up to 10 passengers, is described for Trans-Tasman flying. That is the category to discuss first. A heavier cabin is a separate quote.
Flight times on this page are approximate. They change with the aircraft, the winds and the routing, and they are not a schedule. Sydney to Auckland is approximately 3 hours. Sydney to Queenstown is approximately 3 hours as well, sometimes a little longer. Both are approximate.
Photography is representative. It does not show an aircraft owned or operated by MY PRIVATE JET.
Crossing the Tasman
The aircraft needs the approvals for an international sector, and passengers need the right to enter New Zealand. Those are different checks. We do not arrange visas. Biosecurity on both sides of the Tasman is strict, including for food and for animals.
There is no published Trans-Tasman fare. The Sydney–Melbourne benchmark is a domestic light-jet figure and does not apply here.
QUESTIONS
Short answers first. Where a detail depends on the aircraft or the day, your advisor confirms it.
How long is a private jet from Sydney to Auckland?
Approximately 3 hours to Auckland, and approximately 3 hours to Queenstown. Both are approximate and depend on the aircraft and the winds. Queenstown’s weather and terrain mean the operator confirms the airport on the day.
Auckland Airport (AKL / NZAA) and Queenstown (ZQN / NZQN) are different trips. A super-midsize jet is the category described for Trans-Tasman flying. There is no published fare.
Which aircraft can I charter in Australia?
The charter categories published here are Light Jet (Embraer Phenom 300E / Citation CJ3+), Super-Midsize Jet (Bombardier Challenger 350 / Praetor 600), Heavy Jet (Dassault Falcon 7X / 900) and Ultra Long-Range Flagship (Gulfstream G650ER / Global 7500).
Light jets are described for regional Australian domestic routes and quick hops. Super-midsize jets are described for Trans-Tasman, Fiji and coast-to-coast flights. Heavy jets are described for direct Asia-Pacific routes with multi-zone comfort. Ultra long-range flagships are described for non-stop global transcontinental flying. Availability is subject to confirmation.
Can I bring a pet on a private jet charter?
A pet can be requested. It cannot be assumed. Australia’s biosecurity rules are strict, and the operator decides whether the animal can travel on that aircraft.
Mention the animal, the breed and the route in your notes. Carriage is confirmed before travel, together with any permit the destination requires. Do not arrive with a pet that has not been accepted.
How much does a private jet charter in Australia cost?
A private jet charter in Australia is priced for the whole flight, not per seat. Light jets cost less than super-midsize, heavy or ultra-long-range aircraft. Positioning, airports, crew time and extras such as catering are added. Your advisor confirms the quote for your dates.
Two planning benchmarks are published. Sydney ⇄ Melbourne on a Light Jet is from $18,500 AUD. Sydney ⇄ Singapore on a Heavy Jet is from $145,000 AUD. They are samples for those trips, not fares for other routes, and not a price you can pay on this website.
